    Heeeej all!
I use Kubuntu 6.10 and only had a little problem with the .deb that it didn't auto-install the dependencies, but that was easily fixed. It's a cute program and I LOVE KLuJe!
    ^_^

    Happy happy Maki now. ^_^

    New version: 0.8
Hi. There is now a new version available.

Various packages, along with a source tarball, are available from the KLuJe project download area [http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=45019]. So, if you're running Debian Etch, for example, you would usually download the .deb.

With version 0.8 KLuJe has been updated all over to build & work cleanly with current KDE and Qt versions.

Other key changes: This release fixes lots of bugs and makes it (a LOT!) more stable. All new manual (even has a glossary). Fixed to work properly with non-English languages - Cyrillic, Japanese, etc. A dialog to switch servers was added; this should make it easier for people to use it with other LiveJournal servers, such as DeadJournal. For full details of changes see the Release Notes/ChangeLog.

Patches, or other contributions to the project are welcome. :-)

    Kluje and Debian 6.0
    Hello all :))

    Can anyone help me? :)

I try to ./configure the Kluje, but it tells me: "checking for Qt... configure: error: Qt (>= Qt 3.0.2) (headers and libraries) not found. Please check your installation!
For more details about this problem, look at the end of config.log."

I have Qt 4.1.2 already installed, but Kluje didn't beileve me :( What can I do with it?

The fix for THIS problem is very obvious (change line 100 of klujesystray.cpp to " kdDebug(6969) << "User selected link " << (KURL) url << endl;"

But fixing that bug leads to another:

This is getting into territory that takes more than two minutes to fix....

    What do you recommend?

    userpics? flashing?
    Couple of questions:
When is userpic support planned for kluje?
How do I make kluje not flash its icon red and blue? I'm not sure if it's checking my friend page or what, but I can't figure out how to make it stop (and I've unchecked the box for checking friend updates).

    Thanks in advance.

Got past the X problem, now it's libz
checking for libz... configure: error: not found. Check your installation and look into config.log

I tried installing libzvt-devel (the only thing I could find that had "libz" in it), but doing so did not help me get past this line when running #./configure

Anyone have any ideas for what I should try next? I would like to think I'm not stupid, but reading the configure script is no help to me.

    How to check for X?
checking for X... configure: error: Can't find X includes. Please check your installation and add the correct paths!

I got the above error after # ./configure

I'm new to linux and am not sure how to tell it where X is, nor do I know where X is. I looked in the configure script and couldn't figure it out there either.

I am running SuSE 9.1 with KDE 3.2.1

Has anyone else bypassed this problem? Is there a url I can go to with the solution? I'm eager to get a lj client set up as web interfaces are not to be trusted.

    Thanks in advance.

    Package dependencies
I've been trying to get KLuJe on my computer (Fedora Core 1, latest Qt toolkit), yet it says that I have a list of package dependencies that I need to have before I can install the program, whether by RPM or tarball.

The complete list of missing dependencies is as follows:

    libcrypto.so.2
    libDCOP-gcc2.96.so.4
    libkdecore-gcc2.96.so.4
    libkdefx-gcc2.96.so.4
    libkdesu-gcc2.96.so.4
    kibkdeui-gcc.2.96.so.4
    libkio-gcc2.96.so.4
    libkspell-gcc2.96.so.4
    libssl.so.2

Where could I get an RPM of these packages? It's been bugging me for a while.

    ti11KMainWindow
Downloaded a Suse version of Kluje (at least, that's what http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/15/limit/8/dl/40/pakman/1372/com/checkinstall-1_5_2.html said it was).

Installed it by going through these steps:
    -------------------------------------
    terminal window (Konsole)
    xhost +
    sux
    rpm -Uvh /dir/dir/kluje-0.7-1.rpm
    exit
    xhost -
    -------------------------------------

    It seemed to install fine.
Notice that there is an Icon under my internet folder in the menu. Click it, nothing.
Open Konsole again, don't know where it's located at, find it (via Find Files ui in KDE), cd out to the location (/opt/kde3/bin) and type in Kluje.
    Get this error:
    -------------------------------------
kluje: error while loading shared libraries: kluje: undefined symbol: __ti11KMainWindow
    -------------------------------------

Google __ti11KMainWindow - receive 2 german and 2 russian sites and 2 broken links.
    Google KMainWindow Suse - Nothing
    Google KMainWindow - 3,220
    KMainWindow Kluje - Nothing

I don't feel like looking through 3,220 posts if Kluje has never had an entry for ti11KMainWindow. It makes me think that I might have a non-english version. Anybody know anything about this??

I know I can post via website, but it makes it so much easier to do it from the desktop? Still being somewhat new to Linux I have absolutely no idea how to fix this (especially since I can't find a website that might have an answer). If you missed it, I am using Suse 9.1.

Also, will there be anymore updates on Kluje - Seems 2 years is a long time for development.

    I don't get it
I have a fresh install of SuSE 9.1 and yet I can't install Kluje because I get a list of dependencies a mile long, every one of which cannot be satisfied because doing so would break my whole system. Is there a client that will work on a new SuSE system?

    Kluje Music Detection Patch
    Hi everyone,
I realize this community has been inactive for ages, but I've only recently come across KLuJe, an I quite like it. I've written a patch that supports automatic music detection from JuK. In case anyone is interested, I've made a source package and put it up on the web: KLuJe with music detection
If anyone is interested in resurrecting this project properly I'd be very happy to help. For now just enjoy the automatic music detection!

    Compilation troubles
I had to comment out line 100 in kjule/kjulesystray.cpp to work past the compilation error:

It didn't like the docbook file, either:

    Read more...Collapse )

There are some issues now that prevent me from being able to use it :\...
    - No support for choosing friend groups for each post (custom security).
    - In Edit Posts mode, the Calendar is very wide (860 pixels) and not resizeable. If this were freely resizeable it would be handy.
    - Any non-english characters seem to foul up kluje well, at least in the Edit Posts mode.

    And a feature request:
    - Use knotify for notification when a new friends post is detected.

Let me know if I can help in any way. I don't have KDE or C++ knowledge, but I do have general non-OO programming knowledge, so I may be able to figure things out enough to help.

12 May 2004 edit: For christ sakes, I get more spam in anonymous comments on this one entry than all other spam combined. Disabling comments. I think this project is more than dead by now anyways.

    xmms detection?
Just out of curiousity, was the xmms detection only in the CVS build of KLuJe a while back? Or should xmms detection be working on 0.7?

I have 0.7 installed on a Gentoo box with KDE 3.1.4, and it works great, but doesn't even attempt to detect music.

    Thanks!

Has anyone else had problems installing kluje on Debian.

I've tried converting the RPM to a .deb package with alien, and it installs, but it dies while trying to launch.

    *ding* cvsup ports
cvsup ports-supfile will now yield a happy little port in deskutils/kluje

enjoy, I am monitoring the project in sourceforge so I'll do by best to keep it up to date.

remember to submit bugs that you encounter on freebsd to the project page on sourceforge.net, not to me. I can only patch things, not fix them.
